To create an assignment that does one action when you tap it and another when you hold it is to use hold zones.

Simply do something like this in the advanced assignment window: [X] [Hold Zone .50 sec] [Y]. This will do exactly what you want. Set the hold zone time to your liking.

Yes 5.3 technically works in Windows 7 using the compatibility features. However the error message he is getting is far from normal, in any application. I don't advise trying to use it through compatibility.

Re: How to attack a proflile to a controller set up?

So say I made a controller set-up for Fallout 3 I don't need to attach it to the .exe? Nope Xpadder just goes through windows and by doing so works with everything unless blocked by something like game guard? In 99% of cases yes. Yes with the most recent stable release (version 5.6) hold zones have been added. This allows you to have x as 1 and then hold x as 5. Should be exactly what your looking for.

There are a few ways to disable controller support. One would be in-game, which you have said already doesn't exist so thats out. Second you will need a second keyboard and mouse, even if you don't use it as Xpadder emu...

Xpadder will support it but will not allow for separate trigger axises. Separate trigger axises is made possible by Xinput which is only support by 360 controllers. All other gamepads use DirectInput which does not allow for the triggers to be on separate axises.

Having the triggers tied to the same axis is a limitation of DirectInput. The reason it works fine for a 360 gamepad is because 360 controllers use XInput. Its a new input by Microsoft that only 360 controllers to use. Sorry but there is no way that i know of to get around this.
