Simulate Strumming Using a Guitar Hero Controller

Post by Mobeeuz »

A new game called Rhythm Zone came out yesterday. It's a Guitar Hero knockoff that uses beat detection in songs to create the note highways, the upshot is that you can use your music collection for playing. Anyway it currently forces you to tap keys to the rhythm without support for strumming, I wanted to use xpadder to simulate the strumming but I don't think it's possible.

I tried doing a set toggle for each fret button, making the strumbar hit the key desired but xpadder gets a little lost in the sets occasionally when mashing buttons - the bigger problem is chords. Any ideas?

I solved it... kinda... using strum to switch sets and then have the fret keys in the other set works but it requires you to keep the strumbar down to sustain a note. This profile is using the Xplorer 360 controller which is a bit of a bitch to set up the tilt to focus (star power), leave a note if you want me to upload my xplorer controller profile...

Code: Select all

;----------------------
; Xpadder Profile File
;----------------------

Version=2010.06.03

[Profile Settings]

[Set Settings]
Set1TriggerDeadZones=131,129
Set2TriggerDeadZones=131,131

[Assignments]
Set1Button7Slots=Escape
Set1Button8Slots=Enter
Set1DPadUpSetSelect=1
Set1DPadDownSetSelect=1
Set1TriggerRightSlots=Space
Set2Button1Slots=A
Set2Button2Slots=S
Set2Button3Slots=F
Set2Button4Slots=D
Set2DPadUpSetSelect=0
Set2DPadDownSetSelect=0
Set2TriggerRightSlots=Space
Anyone have any suggestions to better this idea?
