I made a profile for Civilization 5 using an Xbox 360 controller! It is based on the Mini Pro Ex Xbox 360 controller.

I played Civilization Revolution on the Xbox 360 so I tried to maintain similar buttons -- A to move units, X for fortify/heal/garrison, and Y for attacks. Left stick moves the cursor, right stick moves the camera. Also, there are 2 shift modes: hold RT for worker and air weapon commands, and hold LT for info screens. If you use the Back button, mapped to Esc, it will get you out of most dialog screens when people ask you to open borders or sign treaties etc.

There are a lot more commands than buttons but I grouped them so the same button will do different things depending on the context. You don't really ever need the keyboard and you only really have to mouse over to the left side to promote your units and a few other infrequently used commands. The screenshot below shows the mappings, but there's a lot more than would fit in the Xpadder screen so I made a detailed key mapping table .

Hey jack, thanks! It took me a long time to figure out some of the more advanced multiple keys on one button stuff, and of course lots of testing :).

I think I made some fixes to the profile after gods and kings came out, I should update this... But now there's brave new world too...
