Hello,

I am a 45 year old, computer-illiterate gamer. I played COD4 and used a logitach controller- no problems. I purchased COD, MW2 for PC, Logitech wouldn't work, and the keyboard/mouse control was way too difficult. So I purhcased an Xbox controller and downloaded Xpadder because an internet search said that was the way to go. The controller still doesn't work. I saw where people have created "profiles" for the game, but I have no idea what to do with them. I am frustrated beyond belief.

Could somebody PLEASE direct me on what to do?

First, you are going to need a controller file for your controller, with xpadder visible and your controller plugged in do the following...

1) Click the Select All button below, the text will turn blue, right click the blue text and click Copy.

1) Click the little gamepad icon next to where it says <--- Click "New" to create layout.

2) From the menu that opens, click Paste, a bunch of buttons will show up, this is normal.
3) Click the little gamepad icon again and this time click Settings to open the controller settings.

3) Right click on the following image and click Copy Image.

4) Go back to xpadder and click the Paste button under Download and Clear. You should now have an image of a 360 controller on the screen surrounded by pink, click OK.
5) Click the Small Disk icon to the right of <--- Click "Save As" to save layout to save the profile so you don't have to create it again.

6) Click Select All below, right click blue text, click Copy.

7) Click the small page icon to the left of Untitled Profile.

Click Paste, then click the Disk Icon that appears to save the profile.

I follow these steps and I did get to move and zoom I can not fire or crouch or run or any action. What did I miss?

Be sure you run Xpadder as administrator and have XInput selected in the settings.

awI also do not get the boxes over the buttons when I cut and paste the info.

The boxes are created when creating a layout or cut and pasting the first code box above. This assumes Xpadder sees your controller. If Xpadder looks like this then its not seeing the controller.



It will look like this if Xpadder sees the controller but doesn't have a layout loaded.

Right click on the shortcut or exe and select Run As Administrator from the menu - in case you hadn't found the solution yet.
