Normally I don't like useless Gadgets, like theme images. But I like your first and last image here.
Did you already thought about making your pictures, with Jonathans Xbox360 image as base.
So it would be possible to place the buttons larger away from each other, so button names are better to read. And they would be compatible if somebody already made his layout for Jonathans Xbox360 picture (like me for example, but I think almost everyone who want to use your pictures).

Yeah i know what your getting at, i prefer where i see the whole controller even if it ruins usability >_>, but i can see why you would find it annoying if buttons overlap, i will try and start making them as you said, thanks

on a side note, why purple backgrounds? im going to take a wild guess and assume the program reads purple as invisible so the "theme" is behind the controller, but i have yet to try it, is that correct?

Yes Xpadder reads this pink as invisible, that's the sense of this, even if it doesn't look good.
So you don't use this pink it isn't possible, with your images, to see the background (color) you can select in the options.Image

the purple thing is pissing me off. everything i make has lots of colour effects and the images effects overlap into the background and it ends up that it looks awful in xpadder

I haven't made much with drawing programs or graphic programs. But as I saw in Open Office Draw, there are different layers.
You need those layers, so that your effects only make changes on the controller and not on the pink area.
Paint, for example, don't has such layers. But with a look on your images, I think you use something better than Paint.

To answer your other Question, out of the other thread,

Gimp is a OpenSource Picture Editor. So something like Photoshop, but free of charge. I guess it has such layers.

And: You don't have to do this with the pink background. It's nice to have, but not necessary. ;)

You could try masking the magenta layer with the shape of the controller then put the magenta layer on top and set it to normal blending mode at 100% opacity. I used a similar technique for my images.

Magenta will only have problems if you resize your image after filling the pink. This will "pinkify" some pixels around the controller edges. Always fill magenta at the very end and make sure your paint program doesn't do anything clever when filling. You need to solid fill with no edge effects.

Yeah i know exactly what u mean but photoshop seems to screw it up when im saving it, i think when i save as bmp the colours go all haywire cause of the blend effects

Ah yes, I know this problem all too well. :( Blending modes other than normal can ruin the colour codes.

Wait for Jonathan to get around to .png support. ... jk ;)
