Action RPG - stop walking when analog stick released

For an action rpg game like path of exile, I've found now how to use the analog stick to action walking. Example: Walking upwards (towards the top of the screen) is programmed as: Mouse up, mouse click (the walk action), release zone 0.01s, Mouse left, Mouse right. The last three pieces starting from "release zone 0.01s" are just creating mouse stability when the mouse returns to the centre of the screen.

This is great but the character keeps walking for several seconds longer even after the analog stick is released. Is there a sequence so that when I release the analog stick, my character immediately stops walking?
