Wondering about source code...

Post by Xaith »

Hello Long time no see guys....

anyways I was just wondering if it would be possible to get the source code for Xpadder (be it an old version or not). I only want a sample to learn how to code the input detection from controllers and keyboard as I am writing a Game and I thought who better than My old friends at Xpadder! As I am only learnig C++ at the moment it would be greatly appreciated if i could get a sample code that detects Xinput and uses an analog stick and a couple buttons for both Direct input and Xinput... please send an e-mail response to xaith_hyne@<email service removed to protect your inbox dude>!!!

ps: I love the smileys!

Sorry Jon has no plans to release the source code.

Microsofts DirectX SDK should offer much help.

The best (and most enjoyable) way is to hack it yourself 8)

XInput is very simple - the samples and info you need are here at MSDN: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... S.85).aspx
A step up from that is the old multimedia joystick API. Works on non-Xbox 360 controllers. A little more detailed but still quite easy: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... S.85).aspx
For force feedback and a headache DirectInput is here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... S.85).aspx

All the samples are in C too.

Sweet Thank you Jonathan!!!

So far I am just beginning in the world of Programming, so hacking (as of my current experience) is out of the question. I have been looking all over Google and finding thousands of sites that say buy my book for $50.00 or Sign (at a cost) in to Download! As I have just become a father, Money is a little >Tight< but as soon as I can I will get my first copy of Xpadder (since it was a free program anyways)

and just for the fun of it :D :) 8) :keen:   ;) :| :shifty: :geek: :ugeek:  :( :noob: :? :o  :x  :?:  hehe
