Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit (X360)

Post by Primal Fear »

As the native controller support of this game is not working for the Xbox360pad, here a profile for Indigo Prophecy,
Image
I have optimized the left stick for the movement. But that means that it won't work for the actions sequences that good, use the DPad instead (so DPad+right stick).
For the parts where you have to tap alternating left and right, you can also only tap "X", Xpadder will automatically switch between left and right with every button press.
Alternatively you can still use the DPad, if this looks like cheating for you. ;)
"Keep cam behind" usually only works outdoors.
Later in the game you come with Carla first into the cellar archive of the police department and a little bit later to a shooting range. As the controls in these parts of the game are different you need to switch to a different set in these parts. To do that hold the B button for the cellar or the Y button for the shooting range for at least 0.30s, after releasing the button you have switched the set. To go back simply hold one of these two buttons (both will work, no matter in which set you are) again for at least 0.30s.

There is one small problem with the mouse:
Xpadders mouse spring for MPAR doesn't really work as the area that it uses (the full screen) is too large.
So I have decided to use mouse normal. That means, if the game demands to move the stick on half turn, you have to move it three quarters of a turn instead.

[Important]Select in the game under Options->Controls->Control Device "Keyboard/Mouse"[Important]
Note that assignment marked with a * (on RB and LB, as well as the triggers in the cellar) are remnants of the native controller support that I cannot change.

btw am i right in assuming half life 1 and 2 have the same controls for keyboard and mouse so in theory a profile for part to should work okay for part one. And which is better for gaming my 360 controller or my ps3 controller thx

I run every rime into that. I forgot to change the version number in the profile, so it can be used with the latest stable release. I have fixed that now.
At least with the next Stable Release this won't be a problem anymore.

We would have this profile for Half Life 2.

Almost all shared profiles here are for the Xbox360pad. Another big "+" for the Xbox360pad is that it supports Xinput, which many actual games require. Also it has in opposite to PS3pad official PC drivers.
I would say many things speak for the Xbox360pad. The only question that is open, is the matter of taste.

Next Update:
-packed everything in only one set (works great)
-improved PAR2 a little bit (shouldn't cause that much of a difference)
-added a new set for the part in the cellar of the police department
I wrote: You can switch to the "cellar controls" by holding B for at least 0.30s, the set will be changed after releasing the button. To go back, simply hold B again that way. You'll need these controls in the part where you are with Carla in the cellar of the police department. As soon a you are in this first person mode where you have to watch your breath you have to switch to this set.
-changed the "camera stays behind the player character" thingy to optional, it can be toggled on/off with the right stick button
I wrote:"Keep cam behind" usually only works outdoors.
-assigned "Run" alternatively as non-toggle to the left trigger

I've downloaded the latest xpadder and tried to use this profile with no luck.
I've set up to use k&m in game with no luck. out of game the profile seems to be doing what the buttons are assigned to do though. Kinda strange. Did I miss something maybe?

Also strange the left stick can be used in the "controls" menu but once i leave that menu it no longer works, but the arrow keys do.

UPDATE: Forgot the first rule of troubleshooting, once I restarted the computer everything seems to be working fine now.

If you can't use the keyboard too, then you have probably selected "Controller" in the control settings of the game. You have to set it to "keyboard/mouse". Other than that, it would be really strange behavior. In that case try what the guy in the post before yours did (well, you probably did that already :( ).
