Grand Theft Auto 3 (X360)

Select all the Profile text, copy, click the Paste option in Xpadder Profile Menu (help)

Introduction
This is my first profile so tips and criticism are welcome.
This still needs some testing but is working fine for me.

Known Issues
Native Controller Support is making the controls more complex and giving me less freedom to make a proper profile. If anyone works out how to disable it, it will help immensely.

/Fixed/
Analog stick not perfect for driving. /Workaround/ You can use dpad left and right if you find the analog too uncontrollable.
Menus controls don't work as expected due to the native controller support. /Workaround/ Left stick up and down to navigate and B to go forward in a menu and X to go back(I cant change these).
Zooming while targeting (Scoped Weapons i.e. Sniper Rifle) with can now be done with the bumpers.

Instructions
1. In GTA 3 go to the control configuration and select classic controls (although you can use standard), then hover over each control and press backspace to clear them.
2. Then start binding the keys exactly the same as in the picture below.

3. Then paste the code below into Xpadder and enjoy. Please reply if you have any problems or feedback!

Works great. Only gripe I have is the left joy control is really touchy for driving. Dpad left/right allows for better control. I don't know how you fix that though...

The dpad support is built in to the game so it works best for it and I cant figure out how to turn it off.
I have an idea to make the stick better as well, but it will take a lot of reshuffling keys.
I am also making the menu controls work.
Thanks for the Feedback.

Unfortunately I cant improve the analog stick I tried using the mouse steering setting with the controller but the cars just go around in circles.
The dpad seems to automatically work in game anyway, so its a personal preference of analog or dpad.

No problem- great profile. Also, FYI, if you set the controls from "standard" to "classic" the targeting function works. It disables mouse look though.

Sorry about the delay but there seems to be no way to have camera controls on classic.
I can make a second profile that uses it but the right analog stick will be pointless.
I am still trying to get targeting working on normal controls but it might not be possible.

Your key binding picture isn't showing up. Think you could repost it?

I've just tested it and I can't find any issue with the controls in the car.
In GTA 3 you can only shoot from the car while looking in one of the sideways directions (Left or Right Bumper). That might be what your having trouble with, since the modern GTAs let you aim while in the car but this one doesn't.

Hope that solves your issue, if not feel free to reply with some more information and I will try to help some more.

I've got it now, thanks. Is there a fix for D-pad (zoom & target) issue?

I've updated the profile which should fix the zooming issue, now when you are holding down the left trigger you can use the bumpers to zoom in and out.
I only tested it for a few minutes and didn't notice any problems with the fix, so reply if it doesn't work right.

It seems like this profile uses the native controller+plus keyboard and mouse input from Xpadder. Doesn't anything work or only the input that comes from Xpadder?

Only one complaint, if I am in a car I can't back up unless I reach over and press the spacebar with my right hand while the left one hands the controller to use the left analog / d-stick to steer. >.< Any fix for this? Thanks! Beyond that it's a good scheme. :D

Sorry for the late reply.
The X button on the controller should reverse the car, it should brake and then reverse.
If it doesn't tell me and I will do some testing to see what the problem is.

The same for me at the moment. Everything else works fine. Just got the XBOX 360 controller for windows and Xpadder to do some speed running of GTA 3. Everything looks right in game and in Xpadder but right stick doesn't work. It seems that the right stick is moving the cursor instead of the camera in game. I have noticed while trying to move the right stick my cursor appears on my second monitor.

Cheers

I had the same problem. Change the controller settings from "classic" in the game controller config menu to "standard" and the right stick should allow for looking around like you'd expect. It worked for me anyway...
