Dragon Age (X360)

Post by Gunpriest »

I have been playing DAO for a couple of days now and could refine my settings to this:

Code: Select all

;----------------------
; Xpadder Profile File
;----------------------

Version=5.6

[Profile Settings]

[Set Settings]

[Assignments]
Set1Button5Slots=Space
Set1Button7Slots=M
Set1Button9Slots=Left Control,A
Set1DPadUpSlots=H
Set1DPadRightSlots=J
Set1DPadDownSlots=Escape
Set1DPadLeftSlots=I
Set1Stick1UpSlots=W
Set1Stick1RightSlots=E
Set1Stick1DownSlots=S
Set1Stick1LeftSlots=Q
Set1Stick2UpMouseSpeed=32
Set1Stick2RightSlots=D
Set1Stick2RightMouseSpeed=32
Set1Stick2DownMouseSpeed=32
Set1Stick2LeftSlots=A
Set1Stick2LeftMouseSpeed=32
Set1TriggerLeftSlots=Tab
LT = Tab = highlight items, doors etc.
LB = space = pause
Left stick = QWES = character movement
L3 = CTRL+A = select party
D-Pad Up = H = hold
D-Pad Left = I = Inventory
D-Pad Right = J = Journal
D-Pad Down = Esc = Menu
Back = M = Map

That's all i need. I am playing with the 360 pad in my left hand and my mouse in the right hand. I don't think you can play the pc-version of DAO exclusively with a pad, since there are no hotkeys for targeting.

This game uses QWES for character movement? Weird, that's an advantage of Xpadder I guess, you don't have to retrain your hand to use different keys. It doesn't make sense to make the right stick mouse and the right trigger and bumpers for left and right click? I don't know if it would work right because I'm not familiar with this game.

Actually, the game uses AWSD, Q+E is for strafing. Since i use the right mouse button for camera movement, i don't need A+D. Sure, you can assing the mouse to the right stick etc., but for me it would be awkward for selecting and targeting. Now, if someone could make a mod that changes the UI to the console versions (ring menus) and add targeting hotkeys, then you could easily play the pc version with a pad.

I Thank You Gunpriest, your profile works great I use the control/ mouse combo as suggested and it is great. It makes movement and common use options much easier. appreciate the time to post this..
