Here is my GW2 Xpadder setup. I still need a keyboard and mouse of course. Anything inventory related is just better with a mouse. I like to use Tap and Hold for buttons to get more use out of them. For some things in GW2 you want to avoid this behavior. See notes below.

Everything movement related is on the left.
*Left Stick : Character Movement
*Left Stick Click: Dodge (make sure you disable double tab dodge)
*Left Stick Click HOLD: Auto run

Right mouse on right
*Right Stick Camera / Mouse
*Right Stick Click: Toggle right mouse down (Toggle pointer and camera control) I always make sure the mouse is just above my character when I click to mouse down. That's so AOE targeting works correctly.

*Tap Back: ` (switch weapon set) This is a pretty big deal for some classes. You are going to want this button mapped for combat.
*Hold Back: Esc, you can use esc to get out of windows. Very handy.
*Tap Start: F Interact with everything. Make sure you auto loot. Auto anything else as well. Less you have to switch to the keyboard and mouse.
*Tap Start: H Hero menu. This really doesn't need to be here. I haven't decided on what to change yet.
*Left Bumper: Jump. I had this on a tap, with something else that would trigger on hold. But you need to hold jump to swim up (without looking up), so there is no hold behavior.

Attack bindings: I don't use tap and hold macros on any attack bindings. Guild wars does some clever things with their skills that don't work well with a hold. I used to have 5 map to B on a hold. This didn't work out to well.
*D-Pad Down: F1
*D-Pad Left: F2
*D-Pad Up: F3
*D-Pad Right: F4
* A= 1
* X = 2
* Y = 3
* B = 4
*Right Bumper = 5
*Right Trigger = Ctrl
* 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 are bound to Ctrl + 1, Ctrl + 2, Ctrl + 3, Ctrl + 4, Ctrl + 5 respectively in game. I know I could setup different modes, but I don't like having to redo most of the same keys in the different modes.
*Left Trigger = Alt. For now, this is how I handle targeting. Closest target is bound to Alt + 1. Next target is bound to Alt + 4. Prev target is bound to Alt + 2. Closest ally is bound to Alt + 3. Having a lot of these targeting options has made the experience much nicer.

Some extra thoughts. I don't have Crtl and Alt alternatives for F1 - F4. Still thinking about what might be good there. It has to be something for when you are standing still. Post if you have good ideas. I wish they had keyboard navigation through the pop up menus. If they did, I'd only need keyboard for typing :)

Here is my old setup. Had a couple tap and holds that didn't work too well for GW2. But someone might be interested in trying it.

The controller cursor movement is very sluggish so it's very hard to do AoE targetting. Probably it's the problem with xpadder translation software more than your profile because the emulation is hyperbolic at the end but very slow at the start of the move. I did change the mouse setting of both horizontal & vertical to 60 and dead zone to 35% (more responsive) and diagonal size to 75. Less than ideal mouse cursor in game but at least it's playable now.

I don't know why the profile author has configured the DeadZone of the right stick to 87%, but with such an large DeadZone is no normal mouse movement possible. The standard DeadZone is 25%, so if you don't have more problems with the right stick than usual with the Xbox360pad you can still lower the DeadZone a little bit.

As for the the Diagonal Size, I prefer 85% (or directly 89%).

You guys are right about the dead zone, not sure why that was set to that. I must have been playing around with something.

I've updated my profile slightly. I started to get annoyed that I had to center my mouse every time I went into 'camera look mode' so I created a auto hot key script to auto center my mouse when I hit the home key. This script is based off of the GUILD WARS 2 COMBAT MODE auto hot key script. Now bot makers use autohotkey, so be wary that this could invalidate your account if arena nets thinks you are boting using this script. Use at your own risk.

New xpadder setup:
Code: Select all
;--- Xpadder Profile Data ---
DataType=Profile
Version=2012.05.01
Name=GW2 alt
Set1StickDeadZones=39,66
Set1StickDiagonalSizes=33,45

Set1Button2Slots=4
Set1Button3Slots=2
Set1Button4Slots=3
Set1Button5Slots=Space
Set1Button6Slots=5

Set1Button8Slots=HOLD ZONE 0.30s,H,PAUSE 1.00s,RELEASE ZONE 0.01s,F,RELEASE ZONE 0.29s
Set1Button9Slots=HOLD ZONE 0.30s,R,PAUSE 0.30s,RELEASE ZONE 0.10s,V,RELEASE ZONE 0.20s
Set1Button10Slots=Home
Set1DPadUpSlots=F3
Set1DPadRightSlots=F4
Set1DPadDownSlots=F1
Set1DPadLeftSlots=F2
Set1Stick1UpSlots=W
Set1Stick1UpTurboRate=25
Set1Stick1RightSlots=D
Set1Stick1RightTurboRate=25
Set1Stick1DownSlots=S
Set1Stick1DownTurboRate=25
Set1Stick1LeftSlots=A
Set1Stick1LeftTurboRate=25
Set1Stick2UpSlots=Mouse Move Up
Set1Stick2UpMouseSpeed=30
Set1Stick2RightSlots=Mouse Move Right
Set1Stick2RightMouseSpeed=43
Set1Stick2DownSlots=Mouse Move Down
Set1Stick2DownMouseSpeed=30
Set1Stick2LeftSlots=Mouse Move Left
Set1Stick2LeftMouseSpeed=43
Set1TriggerLeftSlots=Alt
Set1TriggerRightSlots=Left Control

Autohotkey script:
Code: Select all
center_state := 0

#IfWinActive Guild Wars 2

#MaxHotkeysPerInterval 1000

~Home Up::

if (center_state == 0)
{
   center_state := 1
   BlockInput, MouseMove
   DllCall("SetCursorPos", int, (A_ScreenWidth/2) , int, (A_ScreenHeight * 0.35))
   Send {RButton down}
   MouseMove 4, 0, 0, R
   BlockInput, MouseMoveOff
}
else
{
   center_state := 0
   Send, {RButton UP}
}

return

~End::
   BlockInput, MouseMove
   DllCall("SetCursorPos", int, (A_ScreenWidth/2) , int, (A_ScreenHeight * 0.35))
   Click down right
   BlockInput, MouseMoveOff
return

~End Up::
   BlockInput, MouseMove
   DllCall("SetCursorPos", int, (A_ScreenWidth/2) , int, (A_ScreenHeight * 0.35))
   KeyWait, RButton
   Click up right
   BlockInput, MouseMoveOff
return

Loving it right now:)

You can center your mouse pointer directly with Xpadder by assigning two opposite mouse directions (with mouse spring mode). There are also possibilities directly on the stick, but they require to use the spring mode for the stick.

troy.humphreys wrote:You guys are right about the dead zone, not sure why that was set to that. I must have been playing around with something.

You have either changed that directly in the stick settings of the profile or you have changed the default value in the Xpadder settings. You should check the second possibility under "Values" in the settings, to make sure to not have this problem automatically in future profiles.

Can you explain the mouse pointer trick in more detail. I'm not quite following.
