Profile Converter (Alpha)

Post by Oke_Doke »

This is an early Apha for a profile conversion tool.
Xpadder Profile Converter

There are many great profiles available in the in the Xpadder forum. The Xpadder Profile Converter Is a tool developed by the Xpadder community to make these profiles available to use on as many standard gamepads as possible. If your controller type is not listed in the converter options leave a reply in this thread with the details about your gamepad and include the code of an example profile or layout.
The community will try to add your controller to the Xpadder Profile Converter tool.
original post "Layout Conventions": Show
So far my experience has been that layout codes are mostly compatible and transferable with slight rearrangements (face button order for example).
Out of pure curiosity, I would like to learn more about the amount of variation between similar controller button numbers [and stick axis] and the consequences of pasting layouts from different types of controllers.

If you feel like sharing, or are also interested in the concept of a convenient "starter" layout. Please post your example layouts like the one below along with the controller type and any other information that might be useful. And/or test the example(s) posted in this thread and provide feedback about compatibly with your controllers.

Thanks In Advance: :)

Added a simple Xpadderish theme to the converter.

You don't need to convert this from Xbox to Logitech Gamepad F310. If you look on underside of the controller you'll see a small button with a groove and you'll also see two letters both left and right one is marked X the other D just slide the button to the X - Xinput and you got yourself an X360 controller, shift to the D - Dinput and you got yourself an older dinput gaming device.

In addition, if you should prefer the Dinput mode then your controller has the layout of a Rumblepad2. The Rumblepad2 is included in the converter.

Well that explains part of my problem. I have no such switch and that's the only model on their site. Everything else is identical save the missing switch on the back.

Logitech says that there is a switch.
But you don't have numbers instead of Xbox360 names on the buttons?

Kk I understand that the web is full of, shall we say, challenging people. I assure you, there is NO switch. I could take a picture of the area where the switch is supposed to be but honestly I just don't feel like going through the hassle. The picture you included is of the F510. Mine only has 3 buttons by the logo in the middle.

Crap! Think I found the confusion. I have the generic model that LOOKS like the f310 but is just called Logitech Dual Action USB Gamepad. Can see it here. http://www.compusa.com/applications/Sea ... d=141Guess it's the poor mans version.

That was the reason why I was asking for the button names, your controller is an older Logitech model than the current Fx10 series. The controller on my picture is a Rumblepad2 and your controller is it's little brother without rumble. I'm pretty sure that their layouts are absolutely similar, so you can use the profile converter and convert to Rumblepad 2.

I just made some profiles for Wing Commander 1-3, but they were made for the Xbox One controller. I thought it would work interchangeably with the Xbox 360 controller, but it doesn't. Is there an easy way to make my profiles Xbox 360 compatible.

Looks like it is time to revisit the Profile converter and update it to allow for new controller definitions.

Hello dear Oke_Doke.

Nice job, used Your Converter for Profile Creation on World of Warships.

I created a DS4/PS4 Controller Profile and was to lazy adding all for an XBO360 also...

If You could and if possible at all add an DS4 parser also.

I will paste here the .xpaddercontroller Content.

But there is a little bit about it. The DS4 has the PS-Button, it is like the Big Green X on the XBOX Controller, but is accepted as a normal Button.
also the Mouse pad has a button Number. The mouse pad is only a Button no movement nor left right mouse etc.

I tried to edit the script but I was a little confused, and also Lazy, to send you a finished parser...

Code: Select all
